| Finally |
My mother finally shook the "cat" out of the efffing bag! And I am no longer in "inner limbo" about our TTC plans for May. Yes, it still freaks me out, but not in the same way. I feel as if the all of the stars in the universe finally lined up in my favor...here is what happened
I was enjoying a few glasses of wine with the whole fam at big sis's house over the weekend.
Mom decides to blurt out (for the second time in the last 3 mos.) "so when are you guys
planning on having a baby?"
I vurp up a little vino, and stare at my lap for the longest 2 seconds of my life.
I answer "In May"
The room grows silent
Mom asks "is there any particular reason you picked May...is it a girl month?" NOTE: my
fam firmly believes in the Chinese Gender Chart.
I reply (rather calmly) "yes it is, and we also wanted to wait until after the cruise"
After this, a convo begins about when, where, and how every member of the family was conceived. As if this was not enough, my mother holds up her thumb and index and demonstrates how the EWCM should stretch between your fingers. I am amazed that she knows about this! Where the hell has this "version" of my mother been for the last 6 mos?
So in conclusion, a giant weight has been lifted from my shoulders. My mother has acknowledged the fact that "her baby" is going to have a baby. |
